Westerwald Prize

Westerwald Prize

21 June 2025

. . . . . . . . .

The Westerwald Prize hosted by the wonderful Keramikmuseum Westerwald was established fifty years ago and continues to represent a remarkable cross-section of contemporary European ceramic art. The fifteenth edition of the competition might now have drawn to a close, but you can always draw inspiration from the accompanying book published by Arnoldsche Art Publishers (ISBN 978-3-89790-731-7).

Here are a few samples from the exhibition: Monika Debus, Eyvind Solli, Francesca Bortolussi, Petra Bittl, Hanna Miadzvedzeva, Anne Mette Hjortshøj and Alicja Patanowska.

"Much is now being 'said' in clay... we see the beginning of the potted word."
