Dutch Tile Museum
. . . . . . . . .
The world is full of stereotypes. It’s a way of helping us package things into neat generalisations. The Netherlands, for example, is known to many for its clogs, Delft Blue, windmills and penchant for cycling…
Did you now, however, that the Netherlands also has a rich history of ceramic tile making, dating as far back as the 1500s.
Anyone visiting the Netherlands, and especially enthusiasts of ceramics, should always plan a vist to the Nederlands Tegelmuseum (Dutch Tile Museum) in Otterlo.
It’s the only museum in the country to show the development of Dutch tiles from the sixteenth century to the present day.
